Nominations: Elevating A Generation
We are pleased to announce the categories for the forthcoming Windrush Awards – Luton & Bedfordshire 2026 edition. The public are invited to nominate people who they feel are deserving of one of the coveted awards. Along with the categories, each nomination must fit the following criteria:
The Windrush generation era is from 1948 – 1971
A nominee could either have arrived to the UK, prior or during this era, or was born to Windrush parents during this era.
Each nominee must be able to show a minimum of a 10-year track record within their nominated areas
The closing date for nomination entries is Monday 24th August, 2026
Nominees must be able to display significant community contributions to the following categories:
